Examples of handmade papers incorporating native New Zealand plants

Products and services

I sell a range of paper, pulp and paper products directly to artists and distributors. I accept commissions for bespoke papers such as for wedding invitations, personalised writing paper, and water-marks. I work with standard paper sizes up to A2 but I can make extra large sheets or papers of unusual shapes.

I run workshops and courses from a basic 2 hour introductory experience, to whole day workshops and longer courses with classes spread of several weeks with a focus on completing a specific project.

Artisan or home-hobby paper makers, please enquire if you are interested in pulped plant material for your own paper creations.

My paper-making brings together my love of science, nature and making things. I work predominantly with New Zealand native plants which I source to help conservation management, and avoids waste going to landfill.

For colour I use cotton-rag and natural dye-stuffs. I work with traditional weavers and make use of their waste materials which may be synthetically dyed.

I am proud to make a uniquely New Zealand product and to be part of movement establishing an artisan paper-making tradition in New Zealand using native plants.

I am always interested in collaborations, developing my skills and knowledge, meeting new people and helping out where I can.
